Application: Coal Bed Methane Measurement and Overpressure Control

Description: CBM gathering system outside of Gillette, WY uses poly pipe for gathering lines.  Wellhead pressures, although significantly lower than traditional natural gas wells, have the ability to exceed the poly pipe rating of less than 200 psi.

Solution: WM Automation Service, LLC provides turnkey supply and installation of ABB Totalflow’s proven X-Series technology along with AST pressure sensors, Metso High-Performance Butterfly Valve, McCrometer V-Cone (DP primary element) and ABB Multivariable transmitter.  This hardware, working in harmony, controls the sales line pressure at less than 150 psi.  The modulating valve allows the producer to not completely shut-in their production, rather limit flow and thereby sales line pressure.
